Steps
- Wash the young burdock root thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt.
- Peel the burdock root using a vegetable peeler and slice it into thin matchsticks.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the soy sauce, sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and water. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.
- Add the sliced burdock root to the saucepan and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the burdock root is tender and the sauce has thickened slightly.
