- All-purpose flour - 100 grams
- Sesame oil - 20 grams
- Honey - 40 grams
- Brown sugar - 30 grams
- Ground ginger - 1 teaspoon
- Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - 30 milliliters
- Cooking oil - for frying
- Sesame seeds - for garnish
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking soda, ground ginger, and brown sugar.
- In a separate bowl, mix together sesame oil, honey, and water until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms. Knead gently until smooth.
- Divide the dough into small pieces and shape them into oval forms, about 5 cm long.
- Heat cooking oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the shaped dough pieces to the oil.
- Fry the dough for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fried yakgwa and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- While still warm, sprinkle sesame seeds over the top for garnish. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
