Ingredients

  • Cooked sushi rice - 200 grams
  • Nori sheets - 4 sheets
  • Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
  • Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
  • Spinach - 100 grams, blanched
  • Tofu - 100 grams, pan-fried and sliced
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Cook the sushi rice according to package instructions, then let it cool slightly.
  2. In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and sauté the julienned carrots and cucumbers until just tender, about 3-4 minutes. Season with a pinch of salt.
  3. In a separate pan, lightly fry the tofu slices until golden brown on both sides.
  4. Blanch the spinach in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then drain and squeeze out excess water. Season with a little soy sauce and salt.
  5. Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat or a clean surface. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice over the nori, leaving about 2 cm at the top edge.
  6. Arrange a line of sautéed carrots, cucumbers, spinach, and tofu along the center of the rice-covered nori.
  7. Roll the nori away from you, using the mat to help keep it tight. Seal the edge with a little water.
  8. Repeat the process with the remaining nori sheets and fillings.
  9. Slice each roll into bite-sized pieces and sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
