Ingredients

  • Rice cake (tteok) - 200 grams
  • Beef (brisket or sirloin) - 100 grams, thinly sliced
  • Egg - 1, beaten
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, sliced
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Water - 1 liter

Steps

  1. In a pot, combine 1 liter of water, minced garlic, and sliced beef. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  2. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10 minutes until the beef is tender.
  3. Add the rice cakes to the pot and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the rice cakes are soft.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to season the soup.
  5. In a small pan, heat a little oil and scramble the beaten egg until fully cooked. Remove and set aside.
  6. Serve the soup hot, garnished with sliced green onions and topped with scrambled egg.
