Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Water - 100 ml
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Green onion - 1 stalk, chopped
- Brown sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Begin by pressing the firm tofu to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1.5 cm thick slices.
- In a pan, heat the sesame oil over medium heat and add the tofu slices, frying until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, water, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes to create the sauce.
- Once the tofu is golden, pour the sauce over the tofu and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let it cook for an additional 10 minutes, allowing the tofu to absorb the flavors.
- Uncover, sprinkle the chopped green onion and sesame seeds on top, and cook for another 2-3 minutes to thicken the sauce slightly.
- Remove from heat and serve warm with steamed rice or as a side dish.
