Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 400 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Carrot - 1 small, grated
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Cucumber - 1 small, sliced
  • Vegan mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1 cm thick slices.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and gochujang to create the marinade.
  3. Add the tofu slices to the marinade and let them soak for at least 10 minutes.
  4. Preheat a grill or non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook the marinated tofu for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden and slightly charred.
  5. While the tofu is cooking, prepare the burger buns by lightly toasting them on the grill.
  6. Assemble the burgers by spreading vegan mayonnaise on the bottom bun, followed by a lettuce leaf, grilled tofu, grated carrot, cucumber slices, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
  7. Top with the other half of the bun, serve immediately, and enjoy your Tofu Bulgogi Burger.
