Ingredients

  • Mung beans - 100 grams
  • Water - 800 ml
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Sea salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Chopped scallions - 2 tablespoons
  • Black sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Rinse the mung beans under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak them in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain the soaked mung beans and place them in a pot with 800 ml of fresh water.
  3. Bring the water to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer and cook for about 20 minutes, or until the beans are soft and start to break apart.
  4. Once the beans are cooked, use a wooden spoon to mash them slightly to create a creamy texture.
  5. Stir in the minced garlic and sea salt, and let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in the sesame oil.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with chopped scallions and black sesame seeds.
