- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Mirin - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Water - 500 ml
- Tofu, cubed - 100 grams
- Black pepper - to taste
- Sesame seeds - for garnish
Steps
- Cook udon noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
- In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, sauté until fragrant.
- Add sliced beef sirloin to the pot and cook until lightly browned.
- Stir in shiitake mushrooms, napa cabbage, and carrot. Sauté for about 5 minutes until vegetables are slightly softened.
- Pour in water, soy sauce, and mirin. Bring to a gentle boil.
- Add cubed tofu to the pot, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
- Season with black pepper and adjust soy sauce to taste.
- Add the cooked udon noodles to the pot, stirring gently to combine and heat through.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
