Ingredients
- Kosher beef brisket - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Minced garlic - 2 cloves
- Ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Lettuce leaves (Butter or Romaine) - 8 leaves
- Cucumber, julienned - 1 medium
- Carrots, julienned - 1 medium
- Green onions, chopped - 2 stalks
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil to create a marinade.
- Add the beef brisket to the marinade, making sure it's well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- While the beef marinates, prepare the vegetables: julienne the cucumber and carrots, and chop the green onions.
- After marinating, heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the beef brisket for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until it reaches desired doneness.
- Once cooked, let the beef rest for a few minutes before slicing it thinly against the grain.
- To serve, lay out the lettuce leaves on a plate. Place a few slices of beef in each leaf and top with cucumber, carrots, green onions, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds and gochugaru.
- Wrap the lettuce around the fillings and enjoy each bite fresh!
