Ingredients

  • Fresh spinach - 200 grams
  • All-purpose flour - 100 grams
  • Cornstarch - 20 grams
  • Water - 150 milliliters
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - for greasing

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. Wash the fresh spinach thoroughly and remove any tough stems. Blanch the spinach in boiling water for about 1 minute, then drain and cool under cold water. Squeeze out excess water and chop coarsely.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, egg, minced garlic, chopped green onion, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add water and whisk until you achieve a smooth batter.
  4. Fold the chopped spinach into the batter, ensuring it is evenly coated.
  5. Lightly grease a baking dish with vegetable oil. Pour the spinach batter into the dish and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing into squares. Serve warm.
