Ingredients
- Sushi rice - 150 grams
- Water - 200 ml
- Nori sheets - 4 sheets
- Canned tuna (in water) - 1 can (150 grams)
- Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
- Mayonnaise - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Spinach - 100 grams, blanched
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice in a rice cooker or on the stovetop with 200 ml of water until fluffy. Let it cool slightly.
- In a bowl, mix the drained canned tuna with gochujang, mayonnaise, sesame oil, and a pinch of salt until fully combined.
- Prepare your vegetables: julienne the cucumber and carrot, and blanch the spinach in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then cool and squeeze out excess water.
- Lay a sheet of nori on a bamboo sushi mat or a clean surface. Spread a thin layer of sushi rice (about 75 grams) evenly over the nori, leaving a 2 cm border at the top.
- In the center of the rice, add a line of the spicy tuna mixture, followed by the cucumber, carrot, and spinach.
- Using the bamboo mat, carefully roll the kimbap away from you, applying gentle pressure to keep it tight. Seal the edge with a little water.
- Repeat with the remaining nori sheets and filling ingredients.
- Once all rolls are made, use a sharp knife to slice each roll into bite-sized pieces. Sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
