- Firm tofu - 200 grams
- Cornstarch - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
- Honey or maple syrup - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions (sliced) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Press the tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess water, then cut it into bite-sized cubes.
- In a bowl, mix gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and honey or maple syrup to create the marinade.
- Add the tofu cubes to the marinade, gently toss to coat, and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add the vegetable oil.
- Once the oil is hot, add the cornstarch to the marinated tofu and toss to coat evenly.
- Carefully place the tofu cubes in the skillet and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
- Once cooked, remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
