Ingredients

  • Honey - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions (chopped) - 2 stalks
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Soak the rice cakes in warm water for 10 minutes to soften them, then drain.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine water, gochujang, soy sauce, honey, and minced garlic. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Add the softened rice cakes to the saucepan and cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens and coats the rice cakes evenly.
  4. In a separate pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped green onions and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Once the rice cakes are done, add them to the pan with the sautéed green onions and toss together.
  6. Drizzle sesame oil over the mixture, stir well, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and additional green onions if desired.
