Ingredients

  • Pork shoulder - 300 grams, cut into 2 cm cubes
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Gochujang (Korean red chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
  • Skewers - 4 (soaked in water for 30 minutes if wooden)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, gochujang, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Add the pork cubes to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  3. Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Thread the marinated pork cubes onto the skewers, leaving a little space between each piece for even cooking.
  5. Place the skewers on the hot grill and cook for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the pork is cooked through and has a nice char.
  6. Remove from the grill and let rest for a couple of minutes.
  7. Garnish with chopped green onion and sesame seeds before serving.
