- Vegetable oil - 500 ml (for frying)
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) - 2 teaspoons
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Green onion - 1 stalk (for garnish)
Steps
- Preheat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 180°C (350°F).
- While the oil is heating, clean the pork skin thoroughly and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, combine salt, garlic powder, gochugaru, paprika, black pepper, and onion powder.
- Once the oil is hot, carefully add the pork skin pieces in batches, frying until they puff up and turn golden brown, about 5-7 minutes per batch.
- Remove the fried pork rinds from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- While still hot, sprinkle the spice mixture over the fried pork rinds, tossing to ensure an even coating.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onion before serving.
