Ingredients

  • Pork skin - 200 grams
  • Vegetable oil - 500 ml (for frying)
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) - 2 teaspoons
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onion - 1 stalk (for garnish)

Steps

  1. Preheat the vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 180°C (350°F).
  2. While the oil is heating, clean the pork skin thoroughly and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine salt, garlic powder, gochugaru, paprika, black pepper, and onion powder.
  4. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the pork skin pieces in batches, frying until they puff up and turn golden brown, about 5-7 minutes per batch.
  5. Remove the fried pork rinds from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. While still hot, sprinkle the spice mixture over the fried pork rinds, tossing to ensure an even coating.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onion before serving.
