Ingredients
- Glutinous rice - 100 grams
- Adzuki beans - 50 grams
- Water - 1 liter
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Honey (optional) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Chopped green onions - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- Rinse the glutinous rice and adzuki beans under cold water until the water runs clear.
- Soak the adzuki beans in water for at least 4 hours or overnight to soften.
- In a pot, combine the soaked adzuki beans and 1 liter of water. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 30 minutes until the beans are tender.
- Add the rinsed glutinous rice to the pot with the adzuki beans and stir well.
- Continue to simmer on low heat for an additional 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Once the porridge reaches a creamy consistency, add salt to taste.
- If desired, stir in honey for sweetness and drizzle sesame oil on top.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
