Ingredients
- Cooked short-grain rice - 1 cup
- Water - 4 cups
- Korean radish (mu) - 100 grams, julienned
- Carrot - 50 grams, julienned
- Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
Steps
- In a large pot, combine the cooked short-grain rice and 4 cups of water. Bring it to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, and let it simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- After 15 minutes, add the julienned Korean radish, carrot, minced garlic, and ginger to the pot. Continue to simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Stir in the salt, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Remove from heat and serve hot, garnished with the chopped green onion and red pepper flakes if desired.
