Ingredients

  • Fresh spinach - 200 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Water - 1 liter (for blanching)

Steps

  1. Bring 1 liter of water to a boil in a pot.
  2. Add a pinch of salt to the boiling water, then add the fresh spinach.
  3. Blanch the spinach for about 30 seconds until wilted, then immediately transfer it to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
  4. Once cooled, drain the spinach thoroughly and gently squeeze out excess water.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, toasted sesame seeds, salt, and black pepper.
  6. Add the drained spinach to the bowl and toss gently to coat the spinach evenly with the seasoning.
  7. Serve immediately or let it sit for a few minutes to enhance the flavors.
