Ingredients
- Fresh spinach - 200 grams
- Doenjang (Korean soybean paste) - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Water - 100 ml
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Green onion, chopped - 1 stalk
- Red pepper flakes (gochugaru) - 1 teaspoon (optional)
Steps
- Wash the spinach thoroughly and drain well.
- In a medium pan, heat sesame oil over medium heat and add minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the spinach to the pan and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until wilted.
- Stir in the doenjang and mix well, allowing the paste to coat the spinach.
- Pour in the water and let simmer for another 3-4 minutes until the spinach is tender and the flavors meld.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with sesame seeds, chopped green onion, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Serve warm as a side dish or over rice.
