Ingredients

  • Shiitake mushrooms - 200 grams
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Spring onions - 2, chopped
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Water - 1/4 cup

Steps

  1. Clean the shiitake mushrooms with a damp cloth and slice them into thick pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and water to create the marinade.
  3. Add the sliced mushrooms to the marinade and let them soak for about 10 minutes.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and pour in the marinated mushrooms along with the marinade.
  5. Cook the mushrooms for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender and the sauce thickens.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped spring onions over the mushrooms before serving.
