Ingredients

  • Ground chicken or turkey - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onions - 2, finely chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Panko breadcrumbs - 50 grams
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
  • Korean spicy mayo (gochujang mixed with mayonnaise) - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken or turkey, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, green onions, sesame seeds, panko breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
  3. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are fully cooked and browned.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly on another skillet or in a toaster.
  5. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked patty, slices of tomato, and cucumber.
  6. Spread the Korean spicy mayo on the top half of the bun and place it on top to complete the burger.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
