- Ground chicken or turkey - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Panko breadcrumbs - 50 grams
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
- Korean spicy mayo (gochujang mixed with mayonnaise) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine ground chicken or turkey, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, green onions, sesame seeds, panko breadcrumbs, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a little oil. Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are fully cooked and browned.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger buns by toasting them lightly on another skillet or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the cooked patty, slices of tomato, and cucumber.
- Spread the Korean spicy mayo on the top half of the bun and place it on top to complete the burger.
- Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
