- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato (sliced) - 1 medium
- Cucumber (sliced) - 1/2 medium
- Sriracha sauce (optional) - to taste
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, sesame oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, black pepper, and sesame seeds. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
- Form the beef mixture into two equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- While the burgers are cooking, lightly toast the whole wheat buns on the grill or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on each bun, followed by the cooked beef patty, sliced tomato, and cucumber. Drizzle with sriracha sauce if desired.
- Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
