Ingredients

  • Baby octopus - 300 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Green bell pepper - 1 medium, sliced
  • Soy sauce (low sodium) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Start by cleaning the baby octopus under cold running water, removing any innards and beaks if necessary.
  2. In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat and add the minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
  3. Add the cleaned baby octopus to the pan and cook for about 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally until the octopus turns opaque and is cooked through.
  4. Stir in the sliced red and green bell peppers, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until they are slightly softened.
  5. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, and gochugaru to the pan, mixing well to coat the octopus and vegetables in the sauce.
  6. Cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  7. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, and serve immediately.
