Ingredients
- Live octopus - 300 grams
- Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Green onion - 1, finely chopped
- Lemon - 1, for garnish
- Chili flakes - 1 teaspoon (optional)
Steps
- Ensure the octopus is fresh and alive. Rinse it thoroughly under cold running water.
- Bring a pot of water to a boil. Once boiling, briefly dip the octopus in the water for about 30 seconds to blanch it. Remove and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process.
- Using a sharp knife, cut the octopus into small bite-sized pieces, approximately 2-3 cm in length.
- In a bowl, mix sesame oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, and chopped green onion together to create a dressing.
- Toss the octopus pieces in the dressing until well coated. Let it sit for 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.
- Plate the Sannakji, and sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the top. Garnish with lemon wedges and chili flakes if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the fresh and unique flavors of the dish.
