- Halal pork belly - 250 grams
- Cooked white rice - 2 cups
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Spring onions - 2, chopped
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large
- Carrot - 1 medium, julienned
- Cucumber - 1 medium, julienned
- Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Pepper - to taste
Steps
- Preheat a grill pan or non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the halal pork belly slices with salt and pepper.
- Grill the pork belly for about 4-5 minutes on each side until crispy and cooked through.
- In a small bowl, mix the soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and gochujang to create a dipping sauce.
- While the pork is grilling, prepare the vegetables: julienne the carrot and cucumber, and chop the spring onions.
- Once the pork is done, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes before slicing it into bite-sized pieces.
- To serve, place a generous amount of cooked rice on each plate, top with sliced pork belly, and arrange the fresh vegetables around the rice.
- Drizzle the dipping sauce over the pork and sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
- Serve with lettuce leaves for wrapping and enjoy your Samgyeopsal Bap!
