Ingredients

  • Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 200 grams
  • Cooked jasmine rice - 1 cup (200 grams)
  • Korean radish (mu), diced - 100 grams
  • Green onion, chopped - 2 stalks
  • Garlic, minced - 3 cloves
  • Ginger, minced - 1 teaspoon
  • Korean chili flakes (gochugaru) - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 4 cups (1 liter)
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Lime wedges - for serving

Steps

  1. In a large pot, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add garlic, ginger, and Korean radish, sautéing for about 5 minutes until fragrant.
  2. Add water to the pot and bring to a boil.
  3. Once boiling, add shrimp, soy sauce, and gochugaru. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until shrimp turn pink and are cooked through.
  4. Stir in the cooked jasmine rice and let it simmer for another 5 minutes to combine the flavors.
  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions and lime wedges on the side.
