Ingredients

  • Pork belly - 300 grams, sliced into thin strips
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Lettuce leaves (Butter or Romaine) - 8 leaves
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
  • Korean red pepper flakes (Gochugaru) - 1 teaspoon (optional)
  • Dipping sauce (Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons, vinegar - 1 tablespoon, sesame oil - 1 teaspoon, minced garlic - 1 clove, sugar substitute - to taste) - as needed

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Add the pork belly strips and marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the marinated pork belly strips and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side until crispy and cooked through.
  3. While the pork is cooking, prepare the dipping sauce by mixing together soy sauce, vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and a sugar substitute to taste in a small bowl.
  4. Once the pork is cooked, remove it from the heat and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  5. To serve, place a few strips of pork belly onto a lettuce leaf, sprinkle with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds, and add a pinch of Korean red pepper flakes if desired.
  6. Drizzle with the dipping sauce and wrap the lettuce around the filling. Enjoy your wraps!
