Ingredients

  • Fresh squid - 300 grams, cleaned and sliced
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Gochujang (Korean red pepper paste) - 1 tablespoon
  • Honey - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
  • Lemon - 1, cut into wedges for serving
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon for grilling

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sesame oil, gochujang, honey, and minced garlic to create the marinade.
  2. Add the cleaned and sliced squid to the marinade, ensuring it's well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and lightly brush it with vegetable oil.
  4. Remove the squid from the marinade and place it on the grill. Grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side until the squid is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  5. Once cooked, transfer the squid to a serving plate and sprinkle with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
  6. Serve with lemon wedges on the side for squeezing over the grilled squid.
