Ingredients

  • Squid - 300 grams, cleaned and sliced into rings
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Water - 100 ml
  • Spring onion - 1 stalk, chopped
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon, for garnish

Steps

  1. In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, gochugaru, minced garlic, minced ginger, sesame oil, and water to create the marinade.
  2. Add the cleaned and sliced squid to the marinade and let it sit for 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
  3. In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, pour the marinated squid and its sauce, cooking for about 5 minutes until the squid starts to turn opaque.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for an additional 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly and the squid is tender.
  5. Season with black pepper to taste, then remove from heat.
  6. Garnish with chopped spring onion and sesame seeds before serving.
