Ingredients

  • Napa cabbage - 200 grams
  • Daikon radish - 100 grams
  • Carrot - 50 grams
  • Green onion - 2 stalks
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Korean red pepper flakes (gochugaru) - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 500 milliliters

Steps

  1. Thinly slice the Napa cabbage, daikon radish, and carrot into matchsticks.
  2. Chop the green onion into small pieces and set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, dissolve the salt in the water and add the sliced vegetables (cabbage, radish, carrot).
  4. Let the vegetables soak in the salty water for about 15 minutes to soften.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the garlic, ginger, gochugaru, soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil to create a paste.
  6. After 15 minutes, drain the vegetables and rinse them under cold water to remove excess salt.
  7. Add the drained vegetables to the paste and mix well, ensuring all pieces are coated.
  8. Finally, fold in the chopped green onions and let the mixture sit for another 5 minutes before serving.
