Ingredients

  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 for serving
  • Sliced cucumber - 100 grams for serving

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, lemon juice, black pepper, and salt to create a marinade.

  4. Remove the mackerel from the marinade and place them skin-side down on the grill.
  5. Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
  6. Once cooked, remove the mackerel from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  7. Serve the grilled mackerel on a plate, garnished with chopped green onions, alongside lettuce leaves, sliced cucumber, and kimchi.
