- Mackerel fillets - 300 grams
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Green onions - 2, chopped
- Lettuce leaves - 4 for serving
- Sliced cucumber - 100 grams for serving
- Kimchi - 100 grams for serving
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, lemon juice, black pepper, and salt to create a marinade.
- Add the mackerel fillets to the marinade, ensuring they are well-coated. Let them marinate in the fridge for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat.
- Remove the mackerel from the marinade and place them skin-side down on the grill.
- Cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the fish is cooked through and has nice grill marks.
- Once cooked, remove the mackerel from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
- Serve the grilled mackerel on a plate, garnished with chopped green onions, alongside lettuce leaves, sliced cucumber, and kimchi.
