Ingredients

  • Dried anchovies - 50 grams

  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onions - 1 stalk, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon, toasted

Steps

  1. Rinse the dried anchovies under cold water to remove excess salt and drain well.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce, water, brown sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Add the rinsed anchovies to the saucepan and stir gently to coat them in the sauce.
  4. Reduce the heat to low and let the anchovies simmer for about 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.
  5. Remove from heat, stir in sesame oil, and garnish with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
