Ingredients

  • Mugwort leaves - 10 large leaves
  • Cooked quinoa - 100 grams
  • Shredded carrots - 50 grams
  • Cucumber - 1 small, julienned
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Toasted sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • Chopped scallions - 2 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Rinse the mugwort leaves under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. In a bowl, combine the cooked quinoa, shredded carrots, cucumber, sesame oil, soy sauce, chopped scallions, and a pinch of salt. Mix well.
  3. Take a mugwort leaf and place a spoonful of the quinoa mixture at the base of the leaf.
  4. Fold the sides of the leaf over the filling and roll it up tightly from the base to the tip to form a wrap.
  5. Repeat the process for the remaining leaves and filling.
  6. Sprinkle the wrapped ssam with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
