Ingredients
- Wonton wrappers - 20 pieces
- Firm tofu - 200 grams, crumbled
- Cabbage - 100 grams, finely chopped
- Carrot - 1 medium, grated
- Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - for frying
- Water - for sealing
Steps
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the crumbled tofu, chopped cabbage, grated carrot, green onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
- Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water, fold it in half to create a triangle, and press the edges to seal tightly. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- Heat a large frying pan over medium heat and add a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Once hot, arrange the dumplings in a single layer in the pan and fry for about 2-3 minutes or until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Add 1/4 cup of water to the pan and cover immediately with a lid. Allow the dumplings to steam for about 5-7 minutes until cooked through.
- Remove the lid and let the dumplings cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to crisp up the bottoms. Serve hot with a dipping sauce of your choice.
