Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Water - 50 ml
  • Ground beef (halal) - 100 grams
  • Cabbage, finely chopped - 50 grams
  • Carrot, grated - 30 grams
  • Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
  • Ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce (halal) - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Green onions, chopped - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour and a pinch of salt. Make a well in the center and add the egg and water. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  3. In a skillet, heat a teaspoon of sesame oil over medium heat. Add garlic and ginger, sauté for a minute until fragrant.
  4. Add ground beef, cabbage, carrot, soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned and the vegetables are tender, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in green onions and remove from heat.
  5. Roll out the rested dough on a floured surface to about 2 mm thick. Cut out circles using a cookie cutter or a glass.
  6. Place a teaspoon of the beef mixture in the center of each circle. Fold over and seal the edges tightly, using a little water if necessary.
  7. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the ravioli in batches for 3-4 minutes until they float to the surface. Remove with a slotted spoon.
  8. Serve the Mandu Ravioli with a drizzle of sesame oil and a sprinkle of chopped green onions.
