Ingredients
- Water - 500 ml
- Korean chili pepper flakes (gochugaru) - 2 tablespoons
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic (minced) - 3 cloves
- Ginger (sliced) - 1 teaspoon
- Firm white fish (like cod or halibut) - 200 grams, cut into chunks
- Shrimp (peeled and deveined) - 100 grams
- Squid (cleaned and sliced) - 100 grams
- Korean radish (mu) - 100 grams, sliced
- Zucchini - 1 small, sliced
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Mushrooms (shiitake or enoki) - 100 grams, sliced
- Salt - to taste
Steps
- In a pot, bring 500 ml of water to a boil and add the minced garlic and sliced ginger.
- Stir in the gochugaru and soy sauce, and let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes to develop the flavors.
- Add the sliced Korean radish and zucchini to the pot, and cook for another 5 minutes until the vegetables start to soften.
- Add the chunks of white fish, shrimp, and squid to the pot, and gently stir to combine.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through.
- Drizzle the sesame oil into the stew and season with salt to taste.
- Finally, add the chopped green onions, stir well, and remove from heat.
- Serve hot in bowls, optionally with steamed rice on the side.
