Ingredients

  • Sweet rice flour - 100 grams
  • Water - 80 milliliters
  • Sugar - 30 grams
  • Red bean paste - 50 grams
  • Salt - a pinch
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - for dusting

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine sweet rice flour, sugar, and salt. Gradually add water and knead until a smooth dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough into small balls, approximately 20 grams each.
  3. Flatten each ball into a disc, place a small amount of red bean paste in the center, and fold the edges over to seal, shaping them into half-moons.
  4. Prepare a steamer lined with a clean cloth. Place the filled rice cakes on the cloth, ensuring they do not touch each other.
  5. Steam the rice cakes for about 20 minutes over medium heat until they are translucent and cooked through.
  6. Remove the cakes from the steamer and let them cool slightly. Dust with cornstarch to prevent sticking.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving for added flavor and texture.
