- glutinous rice flour - 150 grams
- water - 120 ml
- red bean paste - 100 grams
- sugar - 20 grams
- cornstarch - 10 grams
- crushed almonds - 30 grams
- coconut flakes - 30 grams
- salt - a pinch
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the glutinous rice flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
- Gradually add water while stirring until a smooth dough forms.
- Divide the dough into small pieces (about 30 grams each) and flatten each piece in your palm.
- Place a small amount (about 1 teaspoon) of red bean paste in the center of each flattened dough, then fold the edges over the filling and roll into a ball.
- In a pot of boiling water, gently drop the rice balls and cook for about 8-10 minutes until they float to the surface.
- While the rice balls are cooking, prepare a plate with a mix of crushed almonds and coconut flakes.
- Once cooked, remove the rice balls with a slotted spoon and let them cool slightly before rolling them in the almond and coconut mixture.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
