Ingredients

  • Sweet potatoes - 500 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Water - 100 milliliters

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Wash and peel the sweet potatoes, then cut them into bite-sized cubes.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, and minced garlic.
  4. Add the sweet potato cubes to the bowl and toss until they are evenly coated with the sauce.
  5. Spread the sweet potatoes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Pour the water around the sweet potatoes on the baking sheet to create steam during roasting.
  7. Roast in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are tender and caramelized, stirring halfway through.
  8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving.
