Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 200 grams
  • Warm water - 120 ml
  • Active dry yeast - 5 grams
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 2 tablespoons
  • Tomato sauce - 100 grams
  • Fresh mozzarella cheese - 150 grams
  • Fresh basil leaves - 10 grams
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions - 1 tablespoon, chopped

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for 30 minutes in a warm place.
  4. Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
  5. In a small bowl, mix gochujang and tomato sauce until well combined to create the spicy sauce.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a 10-inch (25 cm) round on a floured surface.
  7. Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a baking sheet or pizza stone. Spread the gochujang tomato sauce evenly over the base.
  8. Tear the fresh mozzarella into pieces and distribute them evenly over the sauce.
  9. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling.
  11. Remove from the oven, top with fresh basil leaves, and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing.
