Ingredients

  • Eggs - 4 large
  • Soy sauce - 60 ml
  • Water - 120 ml
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Mirin - 1 tablespoon
  • Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 1 stalk, finely chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring water to a boil. Carefully add the eggs and boil for 9-10 minutes for hard-boiled eggs.
  2. Once done, transfer the eggs to an ice bath to cool for about 5 minutes.
  3. Peel the eggs carefully and set aside.
  4. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, water, sesame oil, mirin, and gochugaru to create the marinade.
  5. Place the peeled eggs in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Make sure the eggs are evenly coated.
  6. Cover the dish and let the eggs marinate in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour, or up to overnight for more flavor.
  7. Before serving, garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
