Ingredients

  • Shiitake mushrooms - 200 grams
  • Button mushrooms - 200 grams
  • Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Gochujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Clean the shiitake and button mushrooms with a damp cloth and remove the stems from the shiitake mushrooms.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sesame oil, soy sauce, gochujang, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  3. Add the cleaned mushrooms to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  5. Once hot, place the marinated mushrooms on the grill, cooking for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until they are tender and have grill marks.
  6. During the last minute of grilling, sprinkle the chopped green onions and sesame seeds over the mushrooms.
  7. Remove the mushrooms from the grill and serve hot with steamed rice and your favorite side dishes.
