Ingredients
- Beef flank steak - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 60 ml
- Brown sugar - 30 grams
- Gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) - 10 grams
- Sesame oil - 15 ml
- Garlic, minced - 2 cloves
- Ginger, grated - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Green onions, chopped - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- Slice the beef flank steak into thin strips, about 0.5 cm thick, against the grain.
- In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, gochugaru, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper to create the marinade.
- Add the beef strips to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best flavor.
- Preheat your oven to 70°C (160°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Arrange the marinated beef strips on the baking sheet in a single layer, making sure they do not overlap.
- Place the baking sheet in the oven and let the beef jerky dry for about 4 hours, or until it is dry but still slightly chewy.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let cool completely before storing.
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions before serving, if desired.
