Ingredients

  • Fish cake (eomuk) - 200 grams
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Green onion - 1 stalk, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Gojujang (Korean chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Water - 120 ml
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon for garnish

Steps

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped green onion and minced garlic to the pan and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes.
  3. Cut the fish cake into bite-sized pieces and add them to the pan, stirring gently.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together the gochujang, soy sauce, sugar, and sesame oil.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the fish cake in the pan and stir well to coat all pieces.
  6. Add 120 ml of water to the pan and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the fish cakes to soak up the flavors.
  7. Once the sauce has thickened slightly, remove from heat and transfer to a serving plate.
  8. Garnish with sesame seeds before serving.
