Ingredients

  • Fresh spinach - 200 grams
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Toasted sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Rice vinegar - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste

Steps

  1. Wash the spinach thoroughly under cold water and drain well.
  2. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add a pinch of salt.
  3. Blanch the spinach in the boiling water for about 30 seconds until wilted, then immediately transfer it to an ice bath to stop the cooking process.
  4. Once cooled, drain the spinach and gently squeeze out excess water.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
  6. Add the blanched spinach to the bowl and toss gently to coat the spinach with the dressing.
  7. Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds on top and mix lightly again.
  8. Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes before serving for enhanced flavor.
