Ingredients

  • Glutinous rice flour - 100 grams
  • Water - 150 ml
  • Brown sugar - 30 grams
  • Sesame seeds - 50 grams
  • Red bean paste (sweetened) - 80 grams
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) - 200 ml

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine glutinous rice flour and water to form a smooth dough.
  2. Add brown sugar to the dough and mix until fully incorporated.
  3. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and flatten each portion into a disc.
  4. Place about 10 grams of red bean paste in the center of each disc and carefully fold the edges over to seal, rolling them into balls.
  5. In a small bowl, spread sesame seeds. Roll each ball in sesame seeds until fully coated.
  6. In a deep pan, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.
  7. Fry the sesame balls in batches, turning occasionally, until they are golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
  8. Remove the sesame balls and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
