Ingredients

  • Glutinous rice flour - 150 grams
  • Water - 180 ml
  • Sugar - 30 grams
  • Red bean paste - 50 grams
  • Sesame seeds - 15 grams
  • Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - a pinch

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt.
  2. Gradually add water to the flour mixture, stirring until smooth and free of lumps.
  3. Grease a steaming dish with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
  4. Pour half of the rice flour mixture into the greased dish, spreading it evenly.
  5. Spoon dollops of red bean paste evenly over the rice flour layer.
  6. Pour the remaining rice flour mixture on top of the red bean paste, smoothing it out.
  7. Fill a pot with water and bring it to a boil. Place the steaming dish in the pot, ensuring it does not touch the water.
  8. Cover the pot and steam the rice cake for about 20 minutes until it becomes firm and slightly translucent.
  9. Remove the dish from the pot and let it cool for a few minutes before slicing into pieces.
  10. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the rice cake before serving.
