Ingredients
- Cooked short-grain rice - 1 cup
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Nori (seaweed) sheets - 2 sheets, cut into strips
- Carrot - 1 small, grated
- Cucumber - 1 small, finely chopped
- Green onion - 1 stalk, finely chopped
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon, to taste
- Black sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, for garnish
Steps
- In a medium bowl, combine the cooked short-grain rice, sesame oil, soy sauce, and salt. Mix well until the rice is evenly coated.
- Add the grated carrot, chopped cucumber, and green onion to the rice mixture. Stir until all ingredients are well combined.
- Wet your hands with a little water to prevent sticking, take a small handful of the rice mixture, and form it into a tight ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
- Place the rice balls on a plate and gently roll them in black sesame seeds for garnish.
- Serve the rice balls with additional soy sauce or dipping sauce on the side if desired.
