Ingredients

  • Pork belly - 300 grams
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Garlic cloves - 2, minced
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons (low sodium)
  • Gochujang (Korean red chili paste) - 1 tablespoon
  • Vinegar - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat a grill or frying pan over medium-high heat.
  2. Cut the pork belly into 1 cm thick slices and season with salt, black pepper, and minced garlic.
  3. Once the grill is hot, place the pork belly slices on it and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until they are crispy and golden brown.
  4. While the pork belly is cooking, prepare the dipping sauce by mixing soy sauce, gochujang, vinegar, and sesame oil in a small bowl.
  5. Remove the pork belly from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes.
  6. To serve, place the grilled pork belly slices on a plate with lettuce leaves and chopped green onions.
  7. Use the lettuce leaves to wrap the pork belly and dip it in the prepared sauce for added flavor.
