Ingredients

  • Ground beef (kosher) - 250 grams
  • Cooked jasmine rice - 100 grams
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Soy sauce (kosher) - 2 tablespoons
  • Gochujang - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Carrot - 1 small, grated
  • Breadcrumbs - 30 grams
  • Ketchup - 2 tablespoons

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, cooked jasmine rice, chopped green onion, minced garlic, grated carrot, and breadcrumbs.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, soy sauce, gochujang, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Add the wet mixture to the meat mixture and mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  6. Spread ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 70°C (160°F).
  8. Remove from the oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
